How to make a recolour of clothes on Body Shop

How to make a recolour of clothes on Body Shop

The Sims 2 Body Shop is used to customize* the default maxis clothes, this is done very easily. Body shop comes with the base game. To locate the folder in which Body Shop is located, go to:
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2\CSBin
You will see:

TS2BodyShop, last on the list, is what you’re looking for. Double click on the application to launch Body Shop. For convenience I suggest you make a desktop shortcut to save returning to the CSBin folder each time.
To make a shortcut, right click Body Shop and select ‘Create shortcut’. Then drag the shortcut to the desktop.

Now let’s learn how to make a recolour.
First you must have photo editing software, such as: Photoshop or Paint.

Secondly you have to open The Sims 2 Body shop shortcut we made.

Next you will see a window that contains The Sims 2 logo and two active buttons at the top:

To get to where we need to be, we must click on the ‘Create Parts’ button. The window should now look like this:
Fourthly click on ‘Start New Project’. From here you can choose what you want to edit, whether it be clothes, facial hair (Only for Men), makeup or skin.

Since we are editing clothes, click ‘Create Clothing’.

Now the window should contain a mannequin and a selection of clothes for the default gender (which is Female), to change the gender of the mannequin click the Male symbol next to the giant female symbol.

Now select anyone of the default clothes and click the ‘Export’ button which looks like this:

After doing that, type a name for the project – so you can identify it.
E.g.

Ninthly click the tick and continue onto the next window.
Now go to the folder the window displays.
    Mine is:

Right Click and open your file with your photo editing software. I’m going to use Paint.

Then pick your favourite colour, for example: Green.
Select box feture and then drag over the image:
Save the document.

Now click back onto body shop and click refresh:

The piece of clothing should change to the colour you dragged over the texture.

There, done!
Now click the import button which looks like this:

Now you should see it in your game!
